Dr. Zollman’s Experience Performing Brazilian Butt Lift Procedures

shutterstock_394698334
I had a patient about 16 years ago with loose lower buttock skin. Rather than excise (cut out the skin) and create a new scar, I chose to fill that loose skin using her own fat. The fat took and has persisted for 16 years.

I know that the fat takes in one’s own body and that it won’t migrate to the other areas because small blood vessels grow into the fat and bring the fat to life where it will be present for the rest of the patient’s life. The patient’s body recognizes the fat as its own, with no worry of rejection.

My technique for harvesting fat has improved since 16 years ago and after 560 brazilian butt lifts, I can say I have never seen an infection or excessive bleeding.

The results have been pleasing to some and life changing for others.

Normally, there is minimal pain and patients are able to sit and lie on their buttocks immediately because we provide them with a special pillow for comfort.

In patients with minimal skin on their booties, the skin stretching may take longer. Usually as 3 to 6 months pass, the booty becomes more natural-looking and beautiful.

I have noticed that my African American and Hispanic patients tend to desire more “hips” in other words they request to have more roundness added to the outside of the buttocks.

More men are considering this procedure because they realize to remove fat and not use it for better buttock shape is wasteful. Besides as men age their buttocks frequently get smaller while their bellies get larger.n

Plastic Surgeon in Indianapolis Discusses Laser Skin Treatment Benefits

plastic surgeon in indianapolis, plastic surgery in indianapolis, laser skin resurfacing, facelift

Indianapolis, IN – Although a traditional or MACS facelift may tighten neck and facial skin, neither will remove areas such as age spots, sun damage or crows feet, as well as mouth, lip, and nasolabial wrinkles. Dr. Wally Zollman, a plastic surgeon in Indianapolis, says he offers a treatment called CO2 laser skin resurfacing that helps get rid of brown spots, and when combined with either of the two facelifts, can be very effective for complete facial rejuvenation. Dr. Zollman says the laser treatment can be very beneficial to patients wishing to smooth their facial skin, as well as concentrate on areas around their eyes. He also adds that using this technique enables him to pursue his goal of enhancing each individual’s overall procedure and outcome. Dr. Zollman has performed 29,000 surgical procedures.

At his center for plastic surgery in Indianapolis, Dr. Zollman and his staff offer years of experience while providing a comprehensive span of treatments and procedures ranging from body lift and rhinoplasty, to implants and laser treatments. Dr. Zollman says his practice aims to utilize the safest, most advanced technology available to plastic surgeons. He says he believes it is his duty to consistently stay educated on modern techniques in order to better himself and his practice, adding that he feels offering state-of-the-art procedures, such as the CO2 laser, help him to provide patients with the level of care they deserve.

CO2 laser skin resurfacing can be performed to enhance the face by removing a number of perceived facial blemishes including chicken pox and acne scars, sun spots, age lines, and wrinkles. Normally, the procedure is performed as an outpatient operation under general anesthesia and can encompass the entire face from the forehead down to the jowl line. The laser can tighten the skin to smooth out small wrinkles, and can be especially effective on eyelids and areas in close proximity to the eyes. Dr. Zollman says results from the CO2 laser can be much more dramatic than those from other office based laser treatments. Following the treatment, he says patients should expect about two weeks of recovery time; however, he adds that every individual heals differently.

Dr. Zollman says patients looking to optimize their enhancement results may want to consider combining laser skin rejuvenation with other facial procedures. Alone, neither a traditional facelift nor MACS Facelift can remove brown spots from the face, or have much effect around the eyes and mouth, which is why Dr. Zollman recommends a combination of laser and facelift procedures. He says adding laser treatment to the benefits of a facelift can result in the greatest amount of revitalization. Dr. Zollman adds that no matter what the procedure, patients should be certain the doctor is board-certified to ensure the use of the safest, most effective treatments and care.

Indianapolis Plastic Surgeon on Rhinoplasty Advancements

Indianapolis, IN – As surgical technology continues to advance, many cosmetic procedures tend to follow the same trend. Indianapolis plastic surgeon Dr. Wally Zollman says the nasal procedure known as rhinoplasty has significantly evolved into a state-of-the-art surgery over the past 10-15 years. He adds that everything from technique to results to recovery time has drastically improved. As an experienced doctor devoted to pursuing the highest degree of health care possible, Dr. Zollman says staying up-to-date on the latest rhinoplasty techniques and procedures enables him to offer his patients top-level, quality care.

At his Indianapolis plastic surgery practice, Dr. Zollman and his highly-trained staff focus on a comprehensive span of procedures ranging from breast augmentation and liposuction, to rhinoplasty and laser treatment. The practice utilizes the most advanced plastic surgery technology, and Dr. Zollman says he continuously looks for ways to improve the overall experience that each individual encounters during a visit. He says more and more patients expect better, faster results, which is why he is proud to offer a procedure such as rhinoplasty that continues to progress. Additionally, he adds that utilizing the latest breakthroughs have made it possible to customize rhinoplasty surgeries for each patient.

Whether patients want to raise and define their nose tip, remove an unwanted bump, or perhaps narrow the overall appearance of their nose, Dr. Zollman says modern techniques provide doctors with the capability of performing rhinoplasty for a variety of individual desires. The procedure can now be modified to accommodate the intricacies of different ethnicities from around the world. Dr. Zollman says 15 years ago, results might have taken up to a year to show, adding that today about 90% of results may appear within the two weeks following the surgery. He says aesthetics have changed in that all scarring occurs internally, aside from a stair-step scar located between the nostrils. He adds that cartilage grafting and sutures are used to support and shape the nose, which ultimately results in a more natural look.

Dr. Zollman says just like patients’ ethnic backgrounds and desired looks differ, techniques used will vary with every procedure. He adds that no two individuals will be treated the same. On finding the right surgeon, Dr. Zollman says whether patients are looking for rhinoplasty in Indianapolis or any other procedure, they should always consult with a board-certified doctor to ensure the safest, most effective techniques are used for every treatment. He also says he hopes people will use his practice as a place to learn more about the advancements rhinoplasty has made, and take advantage of the benefits that the modernized surgery now offers if they wish to proceed.

MACS Facelift Increases at Indianapolis Plastic Surgery Practice

plastic surgery, plastic surgeon, macs lift, facelift, indianapolis in

Indianapolis, IN – According to the latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 116,000 facelift procedures were performed in 2011, which is a 9% decrease from 2010. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Wally Zollman says the drop in facelift procedures may be due to technological advancements and an increased desire for less-invasive procedures. He adds that one procedure possibly impacting the number of facelifts performed is a procedure known as minimal access cranial suspension, or the MACS lift.

Dr. Zollman says the resulting scar of the MACS lift is much smaller in comparison to the traditional facelift, with no need for incisions behind the ears. The less-invasive procedure is also more cost-effective, requires less recovery time, and can be combined with other procedures for patients considering a complete facial rejuvenation. The basic procedure consists of liposuction of the neck through a 1 mm incision under the chin, and was designed to address minimal to moderate neck sagging.

The traditional facelift with the Indianapolis plastic surgeon involves an incision in front of the ear and behind it, plus another small incision in the neck. Dr. Zollman says the full facelift is necessary for patients with significant sagging in the neck and requires more recovery time, though yields results superior to other less-invasive and non-surgical options; however, he notes that many of his Indianapolis plastic surgery patients are not ready for a surgical procedure, or do not require the comprehensive facelift. Dr. Zollman says this is one contributing factor he believes is responsible for the rise in MACS lifts.

Dr. Zollman says regardless of whether someone is considering the MACS lift, or the more traditional facelift, he stresses the importance of consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon. He says the training and experience gained during the certification process ensures patients will receive the safest and most effective care possible, with the greatest potential for aesthetic outcomes that meet patient expectations.

Board-Certification is Essential for Performing Buttock Augmentation Says Plastic Surgeon in Indianapolis

Indianapolis Plastic Surgeon Discusses Board Certification and Buttock Augmentation

Indianapolis, IN — Media attention from a number of celebrities combined with recent statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) have placed buttock augmentation at the center of the cosmetic surgery spotlight. However, given the growing number of recent reports concerning inexperienced and unlicensed practitioners performing underground butt augmentation procedures, board-certified Indianapolis plastic surgeon Dr. Wally Zollman stresses the importance of patients conducting extensive research on their surgeon’s qualifications before undergoing a cosmetic enhancement. Dr. Zollman discusses things to look for in a plastic surgery practice and red flags patients should take heed of in their search.

According to the latest report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), buttock lifts have risen by 5% in the past year, and 143% since 2000. With over 25 years experience in plastic surgery in Indianapolis, Dr. Zollman has been performing butt augmentations for the past 12 years and says he has seen an increase in popularity of the procedure in recent months as more patients are seeking a more celebrity-like appearance. However, as popularity of the procedure begins to grow, Dr. Zollman says so do plastic surgeon impersonators and unlicensed practitioners, necessitating heightened caution from potential cosmetic surgery patients. He says patients looking for a butt augmentation or lift should verify certain aspects of their surgeon’s credentials before undergoing any procedure.

Because of recent news attention on underground cosmetic procedures that involve the injection of industrial caulk or hardware grade silicone into the buttocks, Dr. Zollman says many patients have some serious misconceptions about butt lift procedures and how they are performed. He says the only safe way to perform a butt lift is through the fat transfer method, also known as a Brazilian butt lift, in which a surgeon reshapes the buttocks using excess fat from donor sites elsewhere on the patient’s body. Another type of butt augmentation involves the placement of gluteal implants. Dr. Zollman says patients should be sure to conduct extensive research on the type of procedures available and also to consult with an experienced, board-certified surgeon before making any decisions.

Dr. Zollman says he hopes to reiterate the fact that a plastic surgeon with board-certification has undergone the proper training in cosmetic procedures, and therefore has experience in the latest and safest techniques in aesthetic enhancements from butt augmentation to breast surgery. He also adds that patients who take the time to select the proper plastic surgery practice with a passion for their work will undoubtedly reap the benefits of high quality results, comfort, and patient satisfaction. “As with any cosmetic procedure, “Experience is the Difference.” Seek a board certified surgeon who has done many of the procedures, understands the limits extent of what can be accomplished.”

Indianapolis Plastic Surgeon on Butt Augmentation Procedure

Plastic Surgeon in Indianapolis Discusses Buttock Augmentation Procedure

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 9.3 million procedures were performed in 2010. In the same study, breast augmentation was the most popular form of surgical enhancement, while buttock augmentation and the butt lift were the least common, accounting for less than 1% of the total number of procedures performed. However, Indianapolis plastic surgeon Dr. Wally Zollman says the unique procedure is gaining some new exposure due in part to the growing popularity of minimally-invasive fat-grafting techniques and celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez.

The most recent statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) highlight breast augmentation as the most popular form of surgical cosmetic enhancement in the U. S. While the popularity of breast augmentation continues to grow, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Wally Zollman says his patients know very little about a procedure that provides a more prominent enhancement and curvaceous shape: Brazilian butt lift or buttock augmentation. Despite the relatively small number of procedures performed nationwide, the butt lift has gained more widespread attention as celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian set a new standard for feminine beauty.

In general, Dr. Zollman says aesthetic enhancement, such as a buttock augmentation in Indianapolis, achieved through fat transfer or fat-grafting has experienced a gain in popularity in the past few years. Whereas implants can deflate over a period time and require secondary procedures, Dr. Zollman says cosmetic results in which experienced surgeons use a patient’s own fat should retain the size and shape much longer without the possibility of deflation. He adds that while the procedure is called a buttock augmentation, through the process of collecting a patient’s fat he is able to create a flatter abdomen and torso to further accentuate the curves of the patient’s buttocks.

During a fat-transfer butt lift, Dr. Zollman says the fat most commonly comes from a patient’s abdomen and flanks, and is re-injected into their buttocks. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis, with the fat becoming reintegrated into their own tissue in a matter of hours or days. While the buttock augmentation of the past often left large scars, the incisions of the current day procedure are 1-3 milimeters in length, and fade quickly.

However, Dr. Zollman says the main reason the fat transfer method is especially popular with the buttock augmentation is because of the natural-feeling results. He adds that despite this recent growth in popularity among both genders, he has been performing this type of procedure at his Indianapolis practice for more than 12 years. “Women of all ages love having a more shapely body, and men feel the butt augmentation gives them a more masculine butt.”
